Coulter Young ‘Triptych’ opens June 3

From Saturday, June 3 through Sunday, June 25, an exhibition of new works by artist Coulter Young will be on view at Catalyst Gallery, 137 Main Street, Beacon, NY. An opening reception for this exhibition, which is entitled, “Triptych,” is on Saturday, June 10 from 6pm – 9pm.

This show displays three very different styles of artwork created by one artist, Coulter Young. The artist’s path in life has taken him down many roads including that of illustration, portraiture, sculpture, ceramics and more. This exhibit focuses on Mr. Young’s work in assemblage, portraiture and plein-air painting. Although these works are different in style and medium, there is a common thread woven into each piece. It is the process the artist goes through to create his art.

Coulter Young is an artist and illustrator who resides in the Hudson Valley. He also teaches art at the Garrison Union Free School in Garrison, NY. In addition to this exhibit Coulter’s work has recently appeared in Drawn to the Music at the Society of Illustrators in NYC, The New Rochelle Art Center’s 101st Juried Exhibition where one of his plein-air (landscape) paintings took 3rd prize. In an upcoming exhibit at the Millbrook Vineyard & Winery in Millbrook, NY, Coulter Young ‘s plein air painting entitled, “Haystacks at Wethersfield,” is one of twelve works selected for a group exhibit and wine label competition from June 10 – November 4, 2017. His portrait works are in an ongoing exhibition at Ford Piano in Peekskill, NY.

Gallery hours are Saturday and Sunday from12pm-5pm throughout June or by chance or by appointment. For more information or to make an appointment please contact Coulter Young at 914-419-9089 or coulterart@icloud.com. #coulterart
